Comparative Law LLM Research and Library Resources: Finding Legal Articles

Google Scholar searches HeinOnline, JSTOR, SSRN, and several other academic databases.  It is a good place to start research when you haven't yet narrowed down your keywords.

Additionally, if you're on campus or logged in through the VPN, your access to articles in the UF databases is seamless.

To Find Articles

The best sources for finding law review articles are:

• HeinOnline (must be on campus or signed in through the VPN)
• See this guide's step-by-step guide to HeinOnline.
• Try searching the HeinOnline catalog for "subject:[your subject].
• Search for publication titles with "[your subject]" in the title.
• Note: HeinOnline has most journals back to their inception, but does not have the most current issues of most journal articles.

• LegalTrac or the Index to Legal Periodicals (must be on campus or signed in through the VPN)
• See this guide's step-by-step guide to LegalTrac and ILP.
• Both of these databases are indexes of law reviews.
• Do a Subject-Guide search or an Advanced Search.
• Note: LegalTrac and ILP may not have the full text of articles, so keep citations and look them up in HeinOnline. 

Additionally, the law library maintains a list of other potentially useful databases for finding articles.
